Comments:
I bought this bike a few months ago, and after riding it for a few months, I have found that it is the perfect bike for me. I ride about 80km per week, mostly on road, sidewalk, paved trails and gravel. I don't often ride on dirt. For that, this bike is perfect. It's not as fast as a road bike, but it makes up for that with improved comfort. I test-road several other similar bikes, but I found that I liked this bike the best. One thing to note is the quick release wheels, which make the bike easier to transport but it is a risk to lock it in the open. For semi-serious bikers who don't need to lock it outside, this is the best bike.

I'm 69 years old and have been a biking enthusiast since I was a teen. I've owned several road bikes and mountain bikes over the years but as I got older it became more uncomfortable to ride with dropped handlebars. I was fitted by a local bike shop for this Trek 7.2 FX 2 years ago and it has brought my cycling back to life. The tires are high enough pressure for easy rolling, the gearing is very wide range so hills and flat are a pleasure, and the seat is surprisingly comfortable even on longer rides. I've joined a couple of group ride clubs and have no trouble keeping up the pace, I even lead some rides. I love this bike, it's perfect for me. The easy indexed shifting and good brakes are another plus. The upright handlebars keep my neck from the pain I experienced with dropped handlebar road bikes. The build quality and finish are excellent also. Double water bottle holder brazed ons are great. I use a large poly tank for water bolted to the bike's downtube with a sipping tube clamped to the handlebars. Thank you Trek for making my perfect bike.

I got this bike 5 weeks ago and I've ridden it every day. My longest ride so far is 21 miles. I plan on riding right int the winter. Its addicting. And even better on a bike like this.

Comments:
I love this bike. It's flexible in that you can confidently navigate through areas that aren't cyclist friendly, over grass medians and areas that don't have sidewalks or bike lanes. It might not be road bike fast but it's fast enough and the gears change smoothly. I am very happy to have this bike.

Comments:
I bought this bike for two reasons. Commute to work (17 mile round trip), and exercise. I am extremely happy with the bike. I have over 500 miles under me and it still shifts well and rides like new. I put a smaller tire on it (700X 28) for less rolling resistance and I like the change. I want to start increasing my rides, my only drawback is inherent to all hybrids - one hand position. I am going to add bullhorns or drop extensions to remedy this. Overall, I would buy this bike again.

Comments:
I love the 7.2 fx bike! I bought it in 2015. I use this bike for a fitness purpose. So far, there is no problem with any of the bike components. Personally, I feel that this bike is very light in terms of weight. As a result, when riding very steep hills, I find it easy to climb. The only advantage to this bike is the stiffness. Nonetheless, overall, it is a great bike for the price.

I am a beginner and made this purchase to replace a department store bike. I used that one to ride the bike trails with friends and when I saw that I was working harder and not progressing as much I knew I had to do something. I did a lot of research and ended choosing between this one and a Specialty bike. I am so glad that I made this purchase. I have found a new fitness and weight loss tool.
