Comments:

I got this bike with the intention of using it for some exercise and I love it. The bike feels great to ride and it handels extremely well. It's at the beginning of the price point for a road bike and it seems like a great way to get into the sport. The seat is really uncomfortable, but I can fix that with better shorts or just change the darn thing out so it's not a big deal.

Just purchased the bike from Jax in Irvine. Jermaine was a great help and was very professional. I'm a bigger guy at 6'0" and 270 lbs. The bike handles great and is fun to ride.

This is my first road bike. Technology has come along way over the years. I did some research before purchase and this is one great bike! I was sold the minute I took my first ride! The carbon fiber/aluminum frame is super light and the components make for very easy shifting. Trey, Eric, and John at Trek Bikes of McDonough were very helpful in explaining everything I inquired about before making this purchase. I look forward to riding many, many miles on my 1.5!

This bike is awesome! I've been using my Trek mountain bike for the road with converted road tires, it was fast, but not fast enough to catch the guys on road bikes. This year I purchased a Trek 1.5 compact road bike from Danny's Cycle NY, guys out there were a big help! On my first ride "Night and Day" this bike will easily out run my Trek 6000. Acceleration is insane before you know it you're doing 20 mph +, hills are quickly dispatch with ease, and the bike is extremely responsive. I would recommend this bike to a friend! its a great entry level road bike with decent components.

            Comments:

I've put close to 1800 road miles on this bike since I got it six months ago and I've enjoyed every mile. This is my first road bike--ridden or owned--so I can't compare it to any others. Sticking just to this bike as it is, I have no cons. Typical uses are longer (25-40 mile) rides with the occasional commute to work. It's comfortable, quick and responsive to my demands. Shifting is quick even at higher speeds or going uphill. I wanted the compact since my area is a little hilly. I have plenty of gears to tackle the local climbs. I added clipless pedals (a must), and I flipped the stem over and lowered it for a more stretched position (an option that I really like). The stock tires are fine in general. Last, to point out the obvious, the bike looks awesome. The staff at Scheller's was great, too. Warning: riding this bike will addict you to cycling!

the speed i am capable of getting out of this beast took my breath away. i can quite easily cruise at 30mph and find myself having to slow down for cars(tried overtaking them but a few of them have so far tried to cut me up and generally try to kill me NO JOKE!)if you are looking to cover some serious miles or burn off some frustration this is the way to go. my only niggle is that dropping down a crank feels clunky apart from that you can go wrong. oh did i mention beautiful makes specialised bikes ugly enough to make small children sick. buy it

This is my first road bike after only riding mountain bikes for years. After quite a bit of research I choose the 1.5. This is a great bike and the Cycle Works staff is the best in the biz. I'm still getting used to the saddle...but I'll get there.

I bought the Trek 1.5 after researching, test riding, and comparing price for a few months. I had been riding a MTB for a few years but never regularly enough to require a large financial commitment. So while I wanted a road bike, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. Luckily, I have rediscovered the joy of cycling and think this bike is awesome. I bought MTB pedals right away because I wanted to be able to train on the bike but also use it to ride to the corner ice cream parlor whenever I wanted. The seat is a bit uncomfortable on longer days (over 30 mile rides) and the tires tend to lose air quickly needing to be refilled weekly. All in all, a great entry level bike.
