  • Uncomfortable Seat
  • Rear wheel squeaks
  • Tires can get flat often

Best Uses

Comments:

The tires are extremely difficult to fill with air and lose air consistently, the seat is the most uncomfortable one on a bike I have ever owned, the wheels squeak while riding which is irritating and the bike handle grips are always sliding off the handle bars. For the price, I expected much better [...]

I bought this bike in Oct 2010. A little late in the season, but got to use it a fair amount in 2010 including some winter riding. For a Hybrid I like this bike better than a road bike, especially the handlebars.. I don't like the feel of a regular road bike handlebars. I would recommend this bike for a causal and exercise use and it runs well. Bought my bike from Hub City Sports in Hagerstown, MD.

My wife got me this bike. Better than riding on a lifecycle. Been riding a couple months about 60 miles a week. Commuting and riverbed rides. Rode behind a guy with fancy cycling clothes and a fancy road bike. Kept pace with him at 22-23 mph. He kept looking back and seemed bothered that a guy in cargo shorts riding a hybrid bike was not falling behind. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to get a road bike and see how fast I can really go.

My wife and I ride three times a week about 20 miles each ride. We upgraded from the Navigator 2 and never looked back. These bikes are lighter and faster, much easier on the hills, simply fun to ride. For an 'off the shelf' bike, they're pretty close to perfect. Had to replace the seat with a Terry Liberator, added Ergon grips. The main thing, moving from a Navigator to the FX is getting the 'fit' right. Adjusting the seat height and fore and aft very important. Other than that, we love'em.

I have an 08 version in black. After replacing the seat and grips I have been very pleased with my purchase. The bike is not lite compared to a traditional road bike but much better weight wise than many mountain bikes that may share some of the same parts. The original tires where great until shlashed while locked up in front of local store. Had to get different tires because I could not locate the same tires it came with any more. I would recommend this bike but don't do as I did and pick the lower model for the minimal price difference. I would have saved money then(on the 7.6) compared to upgrading components after the fact.

      Comments:

I commute 10 miles each way/day split between a big box store bike (bad weather) and the 7.3fx. Got tired of being passed by the road bikes and wanted to buy the 7300 or 7.3. Listened to the pros and bought the 7.3. Glad I did. Everything is great for this 58 yo frame except the seat. Upgraded to a shock post and a gel seat and am very comfortable on the streets of New York City. Have been riding it a month and have no complaints. Hate the days on the other bike but don't want to leave the fx out in the rain. The store in Forked River was exceptional and will continue to do business with them. If you are on the fence, just go out and buy it. Its a great deal and a great machine.

I've had this bike for 4 months now and just finished riding 462 miles in RAGBRAI 38. The bike performed flawlessly. No major adjustments. no flat tires. kept up with most "road" bikes. I chose the semi upright position bike because in the past I've had curly handle bar road bikes and most of the time road with my hands in the upper position.

I've had my 7.3 over a year (3000 + Miles) and my 1st new bike in 25 years. It's been a terrific bike, very comfortable and responsive. Hand grips slide around from the heat, easy fix: replace them. Very little maintenance besides oiling the chain. Great value for the money.
