Trek's 7.6 FX is ready to go wherever you are thanks to its great blend of road-bike speed, mountain-bike stability and more-upright riding position. It features Trek's FX Alpha Gold Series aluminum frame with a carbon fork for a fantastic, smooth ride and nimble handling. Comfort is of the utmost importance on the FX so it comes with Trek's IsoZone elastomer-equipped rear end that cancels vibrations and the comfy H2 seat that allows you to go farther and faster that you may have thought possible. Riding far and fast is easy with the light Bontrager wheels and puncture-resistant Race Hardcase tires. And, this sweet machine boasts components from Shimano, Tektro and Bontrager for top-notch shifting, braking and excellent reliability.

Roadies, commuters, fitness freaks, errand runners, Sunday riders—everyone loves Trek's FX bicycles. Here are just a few reasons why (click images to enlarge).
Click to enlarge! The hydroformed-aluminum frame has sophisticated tube shapes that make a frame that's light and strong for a quick and efficient ride.
Click to enlarge!Vibrations travel up your arms to your shoulders, causing fatigue and affecting control. Trek's Ergo and IsoZone grips, paired with the elastomer insert in the IsoZone handlebars reduce vibrations by 30%.
Click to enlarge!Trek's IsoZone is a vibration-damping elastomer in the frame (the black section) to smooth every ride with minimal weight and practically zero maintenance.

Click to enlarge!Riding your FX to work? Running errands by bike? The FX has built-in mounts that make it easy to add racks and fenders for maximum versatility.
Click to enlarge! It’s impossible to be comfortable when your seat’s not comfortable, so Trek's exclusive Flex Form seats sit on a rubber elastomer platform that pivots subtly with your movement as you pedal, for a noticeably smoother ride. Comments:

I ride for exercise and plesure on both roads and bike paths and like the more upright position, thus a hybrid is for me. This bike is a good choice. I did swap out the wheels for those on the 7.7FX as well as upgarding the pedals. I am very happy with this bike and recommend it.

Great bike, lightweight and fast, but, needs customization if you aspire to longer rides or more rigorous training. The grips are better on the 09 and up. I had to customize all pts of contact including new Ergon GR2 Mag grips with integrated bar end, Serfas Mens Gel seal (narrow style), and Shimano SPD combo platform/clip pedals. I also searched and found white/poly electrical wire/cable wrap online to wrap the 3 cables that run along the top of the bike last model had 1000 scratches from this). The result is a customized bike that gets a lot of compliments even from the pros at the LBS. This is the perfect set up for me for my riding, typical 20-30 mile rides plus a few 60 mile fundraisers per season. The Trek quality is great! Even at 240 pounds up on my toes I cant mash the gears and the Kevlar tires have allowed not one flat in the 3+ years and 4000 miles I have put on this series of bike (started with the 7.3FX before going up to 7.6). The carbon fork and Ergon grips have all but eliminated the hand numbness that plagued me.

        Comments:

Wanted a compromise between my Trek hybrid (too heavy and slow) and my Felt roadbike (too much hassel to "dress up" to ride it) It's not as fast as the Felt but it is easier to ride and much faster than the hybrid. The carbon fork and iso-zone technology along with the new saddle design do encourage longer rides. A little expensive but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I use to have a 07 Trek Soho before changing to the FX. Man what a difference. The Soho was designed to be a commuter and was unique in style but it rode way to harsh. The 09 FX with the carbon insert fork, Iso Zone rear and the new seat make the bike ride butter smooth. The FX geometry offers great comfort while maintaining a sense of performance to maintain higher speeds. I love this bike but I'm only giving it 4 stars because I'm sure the 7.9 FX is 5 star version of it.

I upgraded from my old hybrid. I ride about 75 (pretty hard) miles per week for fun and exercise and I wanted more speed. I have a sensitive lower back and this bike gave me a lot more speed without having to hunch over. I just love its speed, ride, comfort, and elegance. For the money it is just great. I highly recommend it!

I had a 7.3 for a year and had hand numbness, plus wanted lighter weight....this did the trick, used to get number 3 miles into my ride now I am riding 20 with minimal problems..the carbon fork and seat stays are making a big difference. This bike is much quieter than the 7.3 and is several pounds lighter. My gripe on the 7.3 is that it had hundreds of scratches on the top of the frame after just a few hundred miles, just from getting off and on and rubbing against the top cables. I found small cable wrap which I installed on the 3 top cables of the 7.6 and this did the trick. this thing is smooth, great for training, have done 50 plus mile rides, very comfortable...great bike...

                Comments:

This bike has been impressive. Much lighter and faster than my previous 7500. I did add bar ends for a different hand position option. Great componets, shifts well. The carbon fiber forks and stays do a good job of dampening vibration.
