Trek's 3500 Disc is a quality mountain bike ready for adventure. Trek's aluminum frame is light for nimble handling, easy acceleration, and quick climbing. It's also built tough so it's fully capable of handing real trail riding. The 3500's 75mm-travel suspension fork dispatches bumps, rough trails, and roots with ease, grace, and confidence. This trail-tamer delivers in the specs department too, with quick-shifting 21-speed Shimano gearing that makes easy work of the hills, a nice set of Bontrager wheels with fat, knobby tires, and disc brakes that are powerful and controllable in all conditions.

bought a 2012 model of the 3500 series and found it to be a great recreational trail rider. have done everything from 7 mile rides to 50 mile rides and it has never disappointed me although it left me we a flat 10 miles from my truck...fortunately had a repair kit and was easily disassembled and repaired and had me back on the trail in no time..seat is slightly uncomfortable for longer rides and should be upgraded.but bike shifts nice, stops on a dime with the disc brakes and cruises well very satisfied and considering buying a 2015 version like the black and orange design

I use this bike as a trail bike and a way to ride around town, I got the bike in July and the only problems I have had with the bike is popping tires. the bike is a great bike if you plan on upgrading it or as a project bike. the 2 main cons are the tires wear down quickly, the pedals may come with reflectors, the normally snap or crack of. over all its an excellent bike.

Great bike. I just sold my Schwinn metal bike and already felt the difference. Its much lighter and can handle the bike path as well as the streets. I also ride bike tours and with this bike I should go more miles than last year with a metal bikes. This is a great buy for a great bike. Trek really hit home with this. My bike dealership Danny's Metro Bikes sized me up and got me into the best bike for my likings. Travis was my salesman and he really sold me and trust me when I tell you, he was on the money. Great ride Travis and Danny's Metro Bikes, thank you and I will definetley do business again and again with you guys.

        Comments:

The 3500 disc replaced an aging but far superior 2002 4500 Alpha that got hit by a car. The only thing good about this bike is the frame. It is recycled AL, so right off the bat you know they're gonna cut some corners on it.Welds on frame seem ok but that's where it ends. The SR fork up front is more like a pogo stick. It tops out any time the front wheeel leaves the ground. Brakes couldn't stop you if you paid them. The only original stuff left on it is the seat post, grips, cables, and paint. After cranks, rims, tires, tubes, derailers frt/r, brakes, bars/neck got replaced, the bike is solid, safe, and dependable. I have had Trek bikes off/on since '88 and this is by far the worst product they have put their name on! Price to parts quality ratio aren't even close. This is basically overpriced Walmart bike w/ a Trek name.
