Comments: A fine long sports bike, OK for short loops and longer (150km+) rides Seat supplied was awful, just like on the Trek 2.3 it replaced But it goes in Scottish rain and Middle Eastern desert

Comments: This is my first real road bike and it makes me very happy to be able to ride in group rides with other seasoned riders. I also own a Trek DS 8.5 which is a great bike also but this 4.7 Madone is extremely fast. I highly recomend this sport bike to anyone who enjoys riding fast and steady. It really feels like all power is delivered to the wheels. You wont go wrong with this bike!!

Comments: THis was my first carbon bike and I was going from an Alu Bianchi with nice Campag wheels. Even though the Bianchi is a good ride, the Trek beat it. The main differences? More comfortable, the higher front end on the H2 setting is better for Sportives, it's lighter for climbing, the Ultegra gears and especially the brakes are brilliant. I bought the bike also because I like the red/white paint job, so I guess I can't complain if I have to spend some time cleaning it. This bike is a pleasure to ride - the miles slip by.

Comments: Great ride for a great price! All carbon and full set of Shimano 105 components make riding smooth and fast. Great at climbing, and solid down the hills. Seat may need to be upgraded, however having only gone out a few times, still breaking it in.

Comments: I've only been seriously cycling for about 6 months now. I usually go between 20 and 40 miles per ride. My previous bike was a 35 lb steel behemoth, so this is my first experience with a bike this nice. However, from the first ride on the 4.7, I've been in love with this bike. This bike is fast, climbs like a rocket, and looks incredible to boot. In addition, the duotrap compatibility made adding a speed/cadence sensor a snap—literally. I swear that even after my first week and 120 miles on it, the bike still feels like it powers itself. The seat is a bit uncomfortable, but nothing that a serious cyclist won't get used to in a hurry. I only mention it here as full disclosure. Other than that, this is the perfect bike at an incredible price. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to increase their enjoyment of cycling. I wish that there were more stars that I could rate it with!

Comments: I got the 4.7 to complement my mountain bike habit. I did not want to break the bank so I thought I was "settling" for a 105 components. In fact this is the perfect bike for me. I ride about 120 miles a week and just wore out the first set of tires. Trek hit the sweet spot for components on the 4.7...and yes even the seat fits me fine. The 105 components work as advertised and I have no thoughts of upgrading. It has a nice wheel set that are still true. This is more bike that I thought I was getting.

Comments: I just got back into ridng and Bike Doctor of Arnold recommended the 4.7 to me. I love the ride. handling is effortless. I read some complaints about the seat, but I haven't found it to be an issue for me. have done several long rides and they've all been great! Tires could be better, but I'll change them out when I gat the chance. BTW, white is a tough color to keep clean. My wife picked up the 4.5 and she loves hers just as much

Comments: okay everyone who complains about the seat I cant comment on, I got mine to race on for free so i cant complain about price either. the brakes, im not sure stock as well. mine came with a fizik arione saddle, the stock wheels and tires, but i got mine with full sram force with sram red brakes. the thing stops, shifts, and accelerates when i need it to. It could be a bit more stiff but I like to sprint so I can feel most frames flex a bit but that helps with comfort on longer rides. If i were to upgrade i would change out the wheels for something else id get mavic ksyrium elites. pricey but a bombproof lightweight training/race wheel. that and continental gp4000s tires and thats all thats really necessary for a slightly more race specific bike.

Comments: This is my first full carbon frame bike and I couldn't be happier. I shopped all winter long comparing many manufacturers in this price range and found the 4.7 to be the best equipped and designed bike in the sub $3000.00 range.the feel and performance of this bike is amazing, the seat, however, does leave some room for improvement.
