If Batman rode a bike, this would be it. Speed and simplicity reach record highs in Trek’s District Carbon. Reminiscent of Trek’s tour-winning Madone, the frame is crafted from highly shaped carbon that ensures you’re the king of the (urban) jungle when it comes to pedaling efficiency. Its aggressive geometry is perfect for keeping up with traffic and Bontrager Race Lite wheels bring Tour de France speed, strength and acceleration to bear on your favorite stop-and-go commute. Speaking of stop and go, the Bonty Speed Limit brakes are powerful and predictable so you stay safe. Top it all off with a carbon belt drive that eliminates your chain, chain marks, shredded pant cuffs and virtually all maintenance and you have a stealthy, blacked-out speedster worthy of a superhero. Run silent, roll fast.

Perfection!

Pros:
Great Components
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not all bikes are made for everyone. This is one of them. So you want gears--buy something else. So you want a budget rider--not for you. This bike embodies the pursuit of the ideal. What Trek has managed to accomplish here is poetry. Once you understand the concept it is perfection. The brand of poetry here is the haiku in motion. It is sparse, the concept tightly executed with a complete economy of design. The belt drive is a sweet piece of technology--while remaining utterly simplistic. That is also the appeal of the single speed bike. Taking what is arguably one of the most attractive frames and going with a simple color scheme that can only be called "bad" it is as close to perfection on two wheels as I have ever seen. Is it a waste? Yes. But that is why you react to it. Why you love it, or hate it. I love it! Thank you Trek for having the audacity to build this.

I rode this bike the other day about 2 miles on a brick road around a favorite lake of mine in Orlando. What a pleasure! Nearly weightless and one of the quietest bikes I've ever rode on, this District Carbon is perfect for both the avid and causal cyclist. I highly recommend the purchase of this bicycle, and the matte black carbon is an attention grabber for sure!
