I decided to try to get back into cycling and wanted a bike that offered comfort, ability to ride both on & off road and deliver performance without breaking the bank . This bike has delivered on all of that. The ride is definitely heavier than a road bike but this cycle is a perfect for those that want to bike on the street, gravel or trails. I'm doing about 50-100 miles per week and the bike has held up very nicely with no maintenance issues.

This is an expensive bike at a very reasonable price! I have over 2000 miles on mine in just a year. The only thing I have had to replace so far has been, tires, cassette (I had free hub rim put on). I have gone down a couple of times and it takes my abuse without complaint. I LOVE the adjustable stem. Sweet ride!

Great choice for an all-around bike... don't buy a mountain bike for riding on the road. This beats them and still can be used for ridng on trails.

A Great Bike for the Leisure Rider

I went to every bike shop in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview Area.  I looked at Treks and others.  Actually purchased a Fuji Absolute 2 -- suspect if it really is a hybrid as they say...after the test ride, like a bad pair of fitting shoes it just didn't feel good and also after 1 week between purchase and pickup the bike was not set up...gears slipping all over the place.  So I went back to Johnny Sprockets and Samuel helped me.  He showed me the right bike. Insisted I take it for a test and althought it was too large for me...it was tight, perfect, just great.  I was sold.  I came back and within no more than 1 hour my bike was custom assembled and adjusted for my height. Perfect, Perfect, Perfect.  I paid and took it home with a new helmet and lock.  This convinced me that the shop and its service is a major part -- should be -- a major part of the equation when purchasing a bike.  So its hard to separate the bike from the shop...they did a great setup...the first time...they are a team and the bike you buy becomes part of it as well.  I recommend this bike highly.  You certainly can commute with it as well as take a recreational ride.  I'd say its an all around bike with no performance flaws.
